DISCOUNT REALTOR

If you are like a lot of people today, you probably don't want to spend a lot of money on a real estate agent.  You were the one working on your home on weekends.  You were the one who replaced that garage door and tiled that floor and you deserve to  be compensated for it.  If you have a fairly average $250,000 home, you are looking at paying $15,000 or more in commissions to an average real estate agent just to post an ad on the MLS and arrange some showings and hopefully a closing. 

To have the best chance of a quick sale you should at least get your property on the local MLS. This requires a Realtor... but you don't want to use a Realtor. Well, you have to to get on the MLS.  You need to remember that what you hate is expensive commissions, not Realtors.... although you may hate getting contacted by them soliciting for listings every day while you try to sell by owner. Since the commission is the problem, you just need to find a Realtor that doesn't charge a commission.  Believe it or not, there are some out there.  Here in Utah, the best discount/flat fee Realtor site is FlatFee93.com.  Although a real Realtor, there is no listing commission whatsoever and just a flat fee of $156.  Compared to the $7500 listing commission above (3% to a buyers agent and 3% to the listing agent, this is a fantastic deal.
